Trux Solutions along with the Ontario Transportation Association (OTA) are pleased that the Government of Ontario is making good on its promised to review transportation in Northern Ontario. This review was one of the items that was promised in the 2019 provincial budget and now the government is hosting consultations in communities across Northern Ontario, including Thunder Bay to get feedback from stakeholders on what it can do to improve the safety and well-being of truck drivers as well as facilitate the movement of goods in the northern parts of the province.
Especially in the northern parts of the province, truck drivers are a critical part of the economy since goods must often travel great distances to reach the people that need them. It is vital therefore that every measure possible is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of these drivers. Furthermore, the transport of these goods serves the families that work and live in northern communities and improves their quality of life. Ensuring the efficient transport of goods to and through Northern Ontario is one of the best ways that the government can support its constituents who live and work in these communities.
